You'll end up signing many leaving cards over the years. A physical card in most cases but digital is becoming far more common. Digital cards allow for much more creativity - you can add photos, gifs, and videos.

Gleeboard can be used to make fun leaving cards - photos, gifs, videos, and quizzes can be left for the recipient.

There are endless things you can write in a leaving card. Remember to make it personal.

Include any of your favourite stories about the recipient. Are there any in-jokes you could add? Any funny incidents you shared with the recipient?

Remember to keep it light and positive.

Formal options

Maybe you haven't worked directly with the colleague or haven't had much time to bond in the workplace - in this case, formal options like the options below are your go-to.

"I hope that you have a great time at your new job and that everything goes smoothly for you. I'm going to miss our discussions and working together. You've been a great friend, and it's been fun working with you! :)"

"Take care of yourself in your new job. I wish I could be your coworker there too! The people you're going to work with are in for a real treat. Goodbye, and keep in touch!"

"I'm seriously going to miss you here—best of luck in your new endeavor. See you soon!"

"You were a real pleasure to work with and you will be missed! Good luck in all your future endeavours!"
